As you make your end-of-year plans, please keep in mind that teachers will be giving major grade assessments and/or assignments the last three weeks of the semester. We will continue to follow the same testing schedule that has been followed throughout the school year:
|Language Arts / Reading||Tuesday & Thursday|
|Mathematics||Wednesday & Friday|
|Science||Tuesday & Thursday|
|Social Studies||Wednesday & Friday|
|Foreign Language||Tuesday & Thursday|
|Electives / Physical Education||Wednesday & Friday|
** Testing Days also located on page 4 of the Smith Middle School Student Planner.
Major Grade Tests / Assignments / Assessments / Final Exams will NOT be administered early.
If a student is not present during one or more of the major grade tests, assignments, assessments, and/or high school level course final exams, he/she will receive a grade of zero for each grade missed. Because teachers are required to input a numerical grade at the end of the semester, teachers will not be able to mark an incomplete “I” for the final course grade.
If a student is ill and unable to attend school at the end of the semester, the same procedure will apply.
All missed major grades will receive a zero in the gradebook. Two make-up sessions will be available on our campus during the month of June:
Communication with your child’s teacher and/or counselor is imperative if your child misses any school at the end of the school year.
