Jodie Blair Smith was selected as the namesake for Middle School #16. Jodie spent 30 of her 33 years in education working in CFISD. She began her career with the district as a teacher at Cy-Fair High School. She served as an assistant principal and an associate principal at Jersey Village High School. She returned to Cy-Fair High School where she served as the principal for 12 years. Jodie was serving as the assistant superintendent for secondary school administration when she retired in June 2003. She currently works part -time for Region IV administering principal assessments. Jodie was selected as Houston’s 2001 High School Principal of the Year by the Houston Chronicle. Her granddaughter, Madison, was a member of the 2010 Cy-Fair High School graduating class.
