Dec. 2, 2024—Smith Middle School seventh grade student Millie Juergens is applauded by her teachers for excelling both in the classroom and on the athletic field.

Age: 12

Accomplishments: Juergens is praised by Chris Gillpatrick, Smith assistant principal, for spreading kindness to everyone she meets and epitomizing what it means to be a Smith Strong student. She has earned the trust of her cross country coaches to lead her teammates through stretching and help when substitutes are required. Juergens is respectful, organized, never gives up and is a leader on campus. She has also been recognized by multiple teachers this school year through positive referrals and Smith’s character strong awards.

Favorite class: “Principles of Applied Engineering, because I like building stuff.”

Favorite things to do after class: “Swim practice and eating a snack.”

Favorite song: Disciple of Christ by Strive to Be and Benjamin Josiah.”

Favorite movie: “Any Harry Potter movie because it’s adventurous.”

Ambition: “I want to be a professional swimming and compete in the Olympics. I love to swim and I want to represent my country and my family.” 

What topics/things are you passionate about?: “My family, friends, church, school and swim.”

What inspires you?: “People not giving up.”

What three things can’t you live without?: “My parents, my siblings and my faith.”
